The majority of the activities related to EAFS2012 will take place at the premises of the The Hague University of Applied Sciences.
Special 1 - Forensic application of special and unconventional tools and expertise
Chair: Sheila Willis
Co chair: Peter de Bruyn
Apart from the traditional forensic fields (like Handwriting, DNA, Explosives, Marks, etc.) a very broad range of science and expertise is used in the expert opinion for forensic purposes.
These sessions are designed to allow the EAFS2012 participants an opportunity to interact with those from the wider less conventional fields. The Special is open to any contribution outside the more traditional fields and therefore might include forensic psychiatry, forensic archaeology, forensic linguistics, forensic seismology, etc. the EAFS2012 organisers are happy to announce that a number of representatives from these fields have already confirmed their participation.
The format of hosting workshops as well as typical presentations (rather then posters) will facilitate interaction so that participants can benefit from exposure to the wide range of fields of expertise.
To maximize the added value of this conference contributors are encouraged to identify the key learning points in their presentations.
Have you been keen to present but had concerns that the area didn’t have broad enough appeal? Are you someone who has experience with the legal process but are not part of the conventional fields usually discussed at conferences of forensic science. This is the opportunity for you!
